What you’ll do

12 days in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and the Chiang Mai region – Estimated 10 Service Hours
Optional 3 day extension

OVERVIEW
From mushroom houses to elephant sanctuaries, this tour connects students to a breadth of community-driven work happening across Thailand. Working alongside community members in the Chiang Mai region, students participate in hands-on projects like preparing spores and monitoring mushroom growth, building raised garden beds, constructing community spaces, planting fruit trees, and supporting after-school programs. At an elephant sanctuary, students learn directly from local partners about ethical wildlife care and the role elephants play in Thai culture, then contribute to the sanctuary's daily operations. Beyond project work, students explore Chiang Mai's temples, share a traditional Khantoke dinner, visit Wat Pho's iconic Reclining Buddha in Bangkok, and tour the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya. Groups will know their exact service partners closer to departure.
